What is Fork?
Fork is a magazine that celebrates independent producers, artisans
and the rising stars of the food world. It is the definitive guide to
where to get the best food in your region, whether it’s a farm shop,
farmers’ market, deli or gastropub.
It’s that little bit different from the rest of the magazines
covering food because it’s all about giving the reader an unbiased
and expert opinion – if we haven’t tasted it, it doesn’t get
mentioned. Fork makes food the focus, rather than celebrity chefs.
Simple really.
Who is Fork?
Fork is produced by a team of passionate individuals. Editor Mark
Taylor and his team write the magazine, take the photos and eat the
food. Mark Taylor has been writing about food for national and
regional newspapers and magazines for over 12 years and, despite his
penchant for dark, loose clothing, has the waistband to prove it!
Who reads Fork?
The average Fork reader shops for food at farmers’ markets,
specialist food shops and when they aren’t cooking it themelves, they
are enjoying great food in gastropubs, restaurants and establishments
where local, seasonal, organic ingredients are central to the menu.
The chances are they don’t possess a cookbook by Antony Worrall-
Thompson, but they probably have a battered copy of Elizabeth David
on their shelf.
